And the band played on…

Welcome to the second season of the Foxboro Community Band!

We have been rehearsing since the beginning of June and our one and only concert is Tuesday, July 16, on the Foxboro town common at 7 p.m. Our concert program for the evening is:

  • The Star Spangled Banner

  • The Bandwagon (Philip Sparke)

  • Down a Country Lane (Aaron Copland)

  •  Handel in the Strand (Percy Grainger), conducted by

    Aaron Bush

  •  Lux Aurumque (Eric Whitacre)

  • Highlights from Star Wars Episodes I, II, III and VI (John Williams arr. R.W. Smith)

  • Selections from the Broadway musical “Wicked” (Stephen Schwartz arr. J. Bocook)

  • 76 Trombones from the Broadway musical “Music Man” (Meredith Wilson, arr. Leroy Anderon), featuring our trombone section and some guest performers

Before the concert on Tuesday, head over to Loewen’s and grab dinner. They are running a concert special: bag of chips, can of soda, 1/2 sandwich, and a cookie for $6.25. Just tell them you’re with the band!

The Foxboro Music Association will be selling water and candy. Proceeds will benefit the music programs in the Foxboro Public Schools.

And if you can’t make it to the concert, Foxboro Cable Access will streaming it live on the internet at this address. It will be broadcast on cable at a future date.

The band and concert is sponsored by the Foxboro Recreation Department.
